This gives 207117 a significant combination of proven Houben/Nico Dreyer blood and Schellekens genetics, backed by its own performance in the Marlbank 2026 Final.

HOUBEN / NICO DREYER FAMILY

The Houben connection is particularly noteworthy. Nico Dreyer's Bloemfontein loft was built around imported Houben pigeons together with Oscar Devriendt and Jules Rijckaert bloodlines. Historical reporting describes 14 directly imported Houben pigeons and their prime progeny being offered at auction, with the loft's sale including approximately 70 winners of around 100 race events.

One of the key Houben pigeons associated with the Nico Dreyer family is BELG 6255238/01 “Parma.” Published pedigrees describe Parma as a super breeder who sired multiple winners in South Africa, including a 6-time winner for Nico Dreyer, and record his 2008 sale at R65,000.

Another important Houben ancestor, BELG 6210287/98 “Pinocchio,” recorded:

 RELATED NICO DREYER WINNERS

The wider Nico Dreyer/Houben family has produced numerous proven racers.

A published auction pedigree records a Houben × Oscar “Mirage” family from a Nico Dreyer click pair. Mirage bred three winners in Bloemfontein as well as a double federation winner, while another daughter of the same family became a 2× winner and Union winner. That related pigeon sold for R9,500.

Another documented Nico Dreyer/Houben pigeon, 7031 SA NWPF 12 “Portia,” is described as a champion racer and breeder whose children and grandchildren produced 43 winners. The pedigree also records the family as having produced positions in the Sun City Million Dollar Race.

A further example is 3135 SA NWPF 11 “Lunar,” a Clausing/Houben/Nico Dreyer pigeon described as a 3-time winner, Federation winner and best long-distance pigeon in its club.

 SCHELLEKENS INTERNATIONAL CONNECTION

The dam side brings in Schellekens blood. The international Schellekens family has produced high-level long-distance performers.

For example, a documented Schellekens descendant won 1st National Marseille in 2009 against 3,999 pigeons, covering approximately 882 km at nearly 1,205 m/min; the winner's father was from the Schellekens family.

The wider Schellekens family has also produced international Ace performance. Gerard Schellekens was ranked 3rd International Ace Pigeon Perpignan over three years (2017–2019).

Another documented Schellekens-related family produced a 1st NPO/National Tarbes winner over 1,080 km against 3,015 pigeons, with Schellekens blood appearing on the winning pigeon's maternal side.
